Sixty years of unwavering dedication have not only resulted in the production of hundreds of millions of safe medicines, but also cultivated an unseen yet tangible warmth—the craftsmanship passed down through generations between master and apprentice.Entering the pulverizing station in the general production area and the coating station in the solid dosage form workshop, two pairs of master-apprentice relationships unfold. They make no grand pronouncements, only daily companionship and instruction. Through years of steadfast commitment, they have jointly completed a silent relay of craftsmanship. And this is the power of upholding integrity, the foundation for ushering in a new chapter.   The roots of craftsmanship, the buds of innovation   Song Demin and Peng Donghai: Twenty Years of Shattering the Road   Song Demin joined the factory in 2003 and entered the general crushing section in 2004, where he has worked for over twenty years. His apprentice, Peng Donghai, transferred in in 2007, and their master-apprentice relationship naturally formed.Song Demin mainly taught him how to mix the ingredients: "How to mix evenly, which herbs can be combined, it can't be sticky, it can't be too oily." He learned these skills little by little through trial and error on the job. Goji berries are sticky and need to be mixed with other herbs; trichosanthes is oily and will burn if not mixed properly. The procedures list the names of the herbs, but not their "temperament"—only experienced workers know these.When Peng Donghai first arrived, his biggest fear was misidentifying herbs. There are over two hundred kinds of herbs, each with different roots, stems, and leaves. Some herbs are only processed two or three times a year, so he wouldn't recognize them even if he encountered them. He looked for instructions, asked the supervisor, but he asked his master most often. Song Demin patiently explained again and again: this goes with that, add this first, add that later. Peng Donghai said that even now, he doesn't know as many medicinal herbs as his master, but what his master taught him wasn't just the herbs, but also the attitude towards work.Peng Donghai not only learns, but also loves to ponder. Grinding and adjusting the blade is delicate work; the coarseness of the powder depends entirely on the angle of the blade, which used to be done entirely by feel. He devised a method: using a steel ruler to measure fixed graduations, he categorized materials into ordinary, viscous, and extra-viscous types, and blade wear into new, intermediate, and final stages. Different combinations used different graduations, making it easy to understand at a glance. This "gradient blade adjustment method" is fast, accurate, and saves time and electricity. He also invented a voice reminder device that automatically reminds people to wash and disinfect their hands when they pass by. Song Demin said proudly, "My apprentice is amazing; he's learned more from him than I taught him." Song Demin retired this October. In over twenty years, he only had Peng Donghai as his apprentice. "What I hope to pass on, besides skills, is character," Peng Donghai added. "I'll train newcomers the way my master trained me. It's the same thing."   A quick temper meets a slow-paced personality   Sun Qingqing is a slow-paced, quiet person who works steadily and reliably. Dong Haibo is an impatient person who works quickly and can't keep secrets. In March 2014, these two people with very different personalities became master and apprentice. At that time, the coating department was short-staffed, and Dong Haibo was transferred from the pressing department. Dong Haibo recalled that he felt pressured when he first arrived at the coating department. "This job is indeed tedious, going through layer after layer." From a batch of plain sheets to the finished sugar-coated product, it takes at least 8 hours, with time requirements for each layer, temperature control, and constant observation of the sheets. The most difficult part is the final coloring. "If the temperature isn't controlled well, the sheets will be uneven or faded." Dong Haibo was anxious when he first started learning. His master, Sun Qingqing, was a man of few words, and whenever Dong Haibo got impatient, his master would say, "Don't rush, stay calm."Sun Qingqing said that the three most important things in training an apprentice are: first, strictly adhere to GMP operating procedures; second, teach the apprentice the complete set of coating process parameters and key control points step by step; and third, help the apprentice build confidence and maintain a stable mindset. He praised Dong Haibo, saying, "He's humble and eager to learn, quick to accept new procedures and knowledge, and hardworking and energetic."Dong Haibo remembered his mentor's words. Later, when he became the foreman of the garment processing team and mentored interns, he said the same thing: "Never rush, rushing easily leads to mistakes." Sun Qingqing has now been transferred to the Quality Assurance Department, but every time she passes by the garment processing station, she still stops to take a look. Sun Qingqing said that in addition to practical coating techniques, it's even more important to inherit a rigorous and pragmatic work style, an honest and trustworthy professional ethic, and a reverence for pharmaceutical production standards.These words are translated into concrete actions on the assembly line: the master stands behind the apprentice, watching them operate, offering a helping hand, saying things like "less" or "don't rush." ​​The apprentice tries again and again until their hands get the feel for it and their eyes get the accuracy. Then, the apprentice begins to train newcomers, repeating the words their master spoke to the next generation.Sixty years ago, there were no shortcuts to passing on this craft; it was simply a pair of skilled hands guiding a pair of unskilled hands. Sixty years later, machines have been upgraded, and workshops have changed several times, but the way of passing on the craft remains the same: experienced hands teach new hands, and craftsmanship is passed on to the heart.Sun Qingqing said, "I feel extremely proud to participate in the company's 60th anniversary celebration and personally witness the passing down of traditional Chinese medicine tablet production techniques from generation to generation."     April 2026, Episode 2: The 60th Anniversary Brand Story of Changchun People's Pharmaceutical Group What's it like to work in the same job from youth to old age? Miao Guoli said, "I dedicated my youth to the pharmaceutical factory." Su Lili said, "I couldn't bear to leave; I've been here for so many years, I've developed an attachment to it." Guo Shuxia said, "I've worked here from a young girl to an old woman." Liu Yanchun said, "From packaging worker to production scheduler, I haven't changed jobs for decades." Jiang Xiaohua said, "The people's prosperity is my glory." They weren't just saying a phrase; they were talking about the most precious years of their lives. In the winter of 1971, 19-year-old Miao Guoli walked through the gates of Changchun People's Pharmaceutical Factory. At that time, the factory was located at the southern end of Minfeng Street, surrounded by farmland. In winter, the north wind whipped up snowflakes that stung her face. She was assigned to the tablet workshop, where the most valuable assets were five single-punch tablet presses. For the next thirty years, she left her youth there. In the same era, Jiang Xiaohua carried products from the People's Pharmaceutical Factory onto a long-distance green train; Su Lili learned to process medicinal materials in the pre-processing workshop; Liu Yanchun manually twisted wax paper to package pills in the pill workshop; and Guo Shuxia sealed bottle caps with fire in the liquid workshop. They had different positions and different experiences, but they shared a common name—People's People.They also shared a common belief: to treat the factory as their home and to be proud of it. Without advanced equipment, they relied on their hands and sweat. She operated tablet presses in the tablet workshop, from single-punch presses to 33-punch presses; later, she worked in the pill workshop for over a decade. "Back then, there was no pay for overtime, but everyone was eager to do it," she recalled. She remembered a time when the factory caught fire, and the wooden trays in the drying room caught flames. Most of the factory workers were women, but not one of them hesitated. "Some colleagues had children in daycare, and they rushed in to put out the fire without even picking them up," Miao Guoli said. "That was state property; we couldn't just watch it burn down." After retiring, she often saw good news about the factory on her phone and would always share it on her WeChat Moments. "I dedicated my youth to the pharmaceutical factory," she said. "My feelings for the factory are very, very deep." Su Lili joined the factory at 18, responsible for processing medicinal herbs in the pre-processing workshop. She couldn't buy ready-made medicinal materials; she had to do it herself—washing, cutting, drying, and processing—each step requiring strict quality control. In her mind, the quality of the herbs was always paramount—"Good herbs make good medicine."Later, the factory introduced its first water pill molding machine. "The day the machine arrived, we were overjoyed. We didn't sleep a wink all night, just to get the job done." After retiring, she was rehired for over ten years. "I couldn't bear to leave; I've been here for so long, I've grown attached to it." Guo Shuxia joined the factory in 1986, manually sealing bottles in the liquid workshop. At that time, they produced ginseng royal jelly and Naoxinshu oral liquid, 200 bottles per drawer, and the daily production increased from 15 drawers to 24 drawers. "It was all done by hand, sealing the bottles with fire, relying entirely on hand speed." Later, semi-automatic filling machines came, which improved efficiency, but the quality requirements were never lowered. But the difficulties were quickly overwhelmed by orders—Renmin Pharmaceutical's medicines sold exceptionally well nationwide. "We didn't need to go to pharmacies to promote our products; we directly connected with pharmaceutical companies in various provinces, and they proactively wanted to buy from us," she recalled. "Because of their good efficacy and consumer recognition, they sold quickly on the shelves. In those days, workers considered the factory their home and were proud of it. I felt particularly honored when the factory prospered." When the factory was being built, the workers didn't go home after get off work; they mixed mud and made bricks without complaint. "When I was needed for work, I ate and slept at the factory and never left." Liu Yanchun joined the factory in 1978, starting as a pill packaging worker before transferring to production management. She said, "Originally, we produced according to plan; later, we produced on demand, only producing when we received orders." This shift made management much more refined—cost accounting, material control, and expiration date management were all standardized step by step. "Before, with such a large operation, we wasted a lot. Later, every bottle and every bag had to be strictly distributed; there couldn't be any waste." In those years, some chose to leave, but she chose to stay. "I have an emotional attachment to the pharmaceutical factory; I couldn't bear to leave."     In April, the land of Jiangxi is vibrant with spring, a scene of poetic beauty. From April 8th to 11th, 2026, the Commercial Control Division of Changchun Renmin Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. meticulously organized a four-day study tour to Jiangxi for its core clients from Hebei Province. This event combined cultural visits, natural scenery, and revolutionary education, offering a rich and diverse itinerary. While appreciating the beauty of China's landscapes and cultural heritage, the tour further strengthened the bond between manufacturers and distributors, and jointly envisioned a new blueprint for cooperation.   DAY 1 Lushan: Exploring World Cultural Landscapes and Reliving Historical Events On the first day of the study tour, the group arrived at Mount Lu, a "World Cultural Landscape" and "World Geopark." The group visited natural wonders such as Ruqin Lake, Flower Path, Brocade Valley, and precipitous peaks, experiencing firsthand the grandeur and beauty of Mount Lu, renowned as "the most beautiful mountain under heaven." DAY 2 Jingdezhen → Wuyuan: Cultural Immersion in the Millennium Porcelain Capital and the Ancient City of Xian Gao On April 9th, the team departed from Lushan in the morning. En route, product instructors from the Commercial Control Division delivered an engaging product presentation to clients on the bus, focusing on the efficacy and clinical applications of Teng Huang Jian Gu Wan and Juanbi Kangsheng Jiu. Clients listened attentively and actively participated. At noon, the team arrived in Jingdezhen, the "Millennium Porcelain Capital," and visited the Imperial Kiln Museum. Here, they experienced firsthand the exquisite craftsmanship of Ming and Qing dynasty imperial porcelain, gaining a deeper understanding of the history and evolution of blue and white porcelain through the "Blue and White Porcelain Secret Realm," and appreciating the profound depth of traditional Chinese culture. In the evening, the team drove to Xiangao Ancient Town in Wuyuan, touching the soul of Hui-style architecture amidst its ancient streets and alleys. DAY 3 Wuyuan → Wangxiangu: A dreamlike collaboration between Huangling Flower Sea and Cliffside Fairy Valley On April 10th, the clients continued their journey amidst the picturesque spring scenery. The unique "autumn sunbathing" landscape captivated the clients. At noon, they strolled along the "ink-wash painting" Moon Bay, where every step revealed a new vista. At 3:30 PM, the group arrived at the popular scenic spot, Wangxian Valley. The activity was specially arranged for a "day and night" in-depth tour, allowing clients to enter the scenic area during peak hours. From the cliffs and clear streams of the daytime to the dazzling lights and starry sky after nightfall, it felt like a fairyland, leaving a lasting impression.
