The 2025 adjustment to China's national medical insurance drug catalog added 114 new drugs, including 50 Class 1 innovative drugs, while removing 29 drugs that were either clinically unavailable or could be better replaced by other medications. Following this adjustment, the total number of drugs in the catalog increased to 3,253, comprising 1,857 Western medicines and 1,396 traditional Chinese medicines.
This year marks the first introduction of a commercial insurance innovative drug catalog, which prioritizes drugs with significant clinical value, high innovation levels, and clear patient benefits that fall outside the scope of basic medical insurance coverage. After undergoing self-application, expert review, and commercial insurance expert re-evaluation processes, a total of 19 drugs from 18 innovative pharmaceutical companies were successfully included. These drugs cover therapeutic areas such as oncology and rare diseases, including 9 Class 1 new drugs.
While paying attention to the "new additions" to the catalog, we are even more delighted to see that Changchun Renmin Pharmaceutical has consistently upheld product quality and fulfilled its firm commitments to consumers. With their proven clinical efficacy, excellent safety profiles, and broad recognition among patients, 67 varieties continue to be stably retained in the National Medical Insurance Catalog.
